The magic happened in a Bari restaurant in 1967 thanks to Enzo Francavilla, a chef from Foggia. Late one night, a couple of diners asked for a flavorful dish, and Chef Enzo created this bold, spicy masterpiece. He toasted spaghetti directly in a pan with tomato sauce until smoky, crispy, and caramelized. The customers loved it so much that one of them jokingly called him “an assassin... of great taste!” – and the name stuck! 😏
